About Rise in STEM
Founded in 2019, Rise In STEM is dedicated to fostering a support network of community leaders, students, and professionals to increase access to role models, shatter stereotypes and demonstrate that any career aspiration is possible. We believe that when youth are provided a safe space to communicate ideas, collaborate and expand their knowledge there is no end to what can be achieved.
Vision
A strong and socially conscious STEM workforce where youth across underserved communities have the opportunity to participate and thrive in the global economy.
Mission
To level the playing field for Black youth by breaking down barriers to higher education and STEM career pathways. We provide resources and opportunities to enhance well being, leadership and technical skills, ensuring youth are well-equipped for success in today’s digital society.
Our target demographic is African, Black, and Caribbean youth, however, programs are inclusive of youth aged 13-18 in the GTA.
